Mount Kenya Trek
Five days to Point Lenana (4,985m) on the quiet, scenic Sirimon route.
About this trip
Africa's second-highest peak, without the crowds. The Sirimon route climbs gradually through bamboo forest and high moorland to the Mackinder's Valley, giving your body time to acclimatise before a pre-dawn push to Point Lenana for sunrise over the glaciers. Guides, porters and hot meals are all handled - you just walk.

Day by day
- Nairobi to Sirimon Gate Transfer, registration, and a gentle first walk to Old Moses Camp through the forest zone.
- Old Moses to Shipton's Camp A long, beautiful day across the moorland and into the Mackinder's Valley.
- Acclimatisation day Short hikes around Shipton's to help your body adjust to the altitude.
- Summit Point Lenana Pre-dawn start for sunrise on the summit, then descend to Old Moses to rest.
- Descent and return Final walk out to the gate and transfer back to Nairobi.
